Our Saviors Stillwater/Christ the King Visit MILAGRO and CLAG
During this visit, the group from Our Saviors and Christ the King shared some very special moments with the young women of the MILAGRO program, strengthening the bonds of friendship, faith, and fellowship that unite both communities. The day began with a presentation prepared by the students, who—through dances, traditional elements, and depictions of their communities’ harvests—shared part of their cultural identity and the reality of the villages where they come from. This artistic expression allowed the visitors to gain an intimate and meaningful understanding of the traditions, the hard work of farming families, and the cultural richness that characterizes Guatemala’s rural communities.
Afterward, the young women and delegation participated in various recreational and wellness activities, including self-care activities such as facial masks, nail art, and other group activities designed for them to enjoy together. However, the most valuable aspect of these moments was the conversations that arose naturally as they shared these activities. In an atmosphere of trust, respect, and openness, they were able to get to know one another beyond their cultural differences, share life experiences, listen to each other’s stories, and strengthen relationships based on empathy and Christian fellowship. These moments served as a reminder that, often, the simplest gestures are the ones that create the deepest connections.
As part of the visit, the delegation also spent a day at the Lutheran School (CLAG), where they were warmly welcomed by students and teachers. The visitors from our saviors split into small groups to tour different grade levels, allowing each classroom to enjoy activities specially prepared for the children. Through music, singing, jump rope games, bubble blowing, and arts and crafts, the students participated with joy, creativity, and great enthusiasm, turning each classroom and space into a space for fun and shared learning.
Spending time together at the school also provided an opportunity to get to know the teachers and children who are part of the educational community more closely. Beyond the recreational activities, the visit demonstrated the value of building relationships through service, listening, and spending time together. Every conversation, smile, and game helped strengthen the bonds between the two Christian communities, reminding us that God’s love is also manifested in friendship, service, and a willingness to walk together, even when we come from different contexts and cultures.

Durante esta visita, el grupo visitante de la Iglesia Luterana Nuestro Salvador y Cristo Rey compartió momentos muy especiales con las jóvenes del programa MILAGRO, fortaleciendo los lazos de amistad, fe y compañerismo que unen a ambas comunidades. La jornada inició con una presentación preparada por las estudiantes, quienes, a través de bailes, elementos tradicionales y representaciones de las cosechas de sus comunidades, compartieron parte de su identidad cultural y la realidad de las aldeas de donde provienen. Esta expresión artística permitió a los visitantes conocer de una manera cercana y significativa las tradiciones, el esfuerzo de las familias agricultoras y la riqueza cultural que caracteriza a las comunidades rurales de Guatemala.
Posteriormente, las jóvenes y la delegación participaron en diferentes actividades recreativas y de bienestar, entre ellas espacios de cuidado personal como mascarillas faciales, diseño de uñas y otras dinámicas pensadas para disfrutar juntos. Sin embargo, lo más valioso de estos momentos fueron las conversaciones que surgieron de manera natural mientras compartían las actividades. En un ambiente de confianza, respeto y apertura, pudieron conocerse más allá de las diferencias culturales, intercambiar experiencias de vida, escuchar sus historias y fortalecer relaciones basadas en la empatía y el acompañamiento cristiano. Estos espacios recordaron que, muchas veces, los gestos más sencillos son los que crean las conexiones más profundas.
Como parte de la visita, la delegación también compartió una jornada en el Colegio Luterano (CLAG), donde fueron recibidos con entusiasmo por estudiantes y docentes. Los visitantes se dividieron en pequeños grupos para recorrer diferentes grados, permitiendo que cada salón disfrutara de actividades especialmente preparadas para los niños. A través de música, cantos, juegos de salto de cuerda, burbujas y manualidades, los estudiantes participaron con alegría, creatividad y mucho entusiasmo, convirtiendo cada aula en un espacio de diversión y aprendizaje compartido.
La convivencia en el colegio también brindó la oportunidad de conocer más de cerca a las maestras y a los niños que forman parte de la comunidad educativa. Más allá de las actividades recreativas, la visita fue una muestra del valor de construir relaciones a través del servicio, la escucha y el tiempo compartido. Cada conversación, sonrisa y juego contribuyó a fortalecer los lazos entre ambas comunidades, recordando que el amor de Dios se manifiesta también en la amistad, el servicio y la disposición de caminar juntos, aun cuando se proviene de contextos y culturas diferentes.
