Our Saviors-Christ the King visit Nueva Guatemala
The visit to the community of Nueva Guatemala began with an enthusiastic and warm welcome that reflected the welcoming spirit of its residents. Despite the rain, the community gathered to welcome the delegation with signs, balloons, and party poppers, expressing their joy at spending this time together. This welcome was a beautiful demonstration of the affection and gratitude that exist between the two churches, reminding us that hospitality and love for one’s neighbor transcend any circumstance and strengthen the bonds of the Christian family.
As part of the day’s activities, a special service was held at the church, where the congregation experienced moments of deep emotion and spiritual significance. During the celebration, a baby was presented before God and a baptism took place—events that filled both the families and the entire community with joy. The presence of the delegation from the United States made this moment even more special, as they were able to join in and celebrate these important steps of faith together, reaffirming that the Church of Christ is united beyond borders and cultural differences.
After the service, various social activities took place that helped strengthen the bonds of friendship between the visitors and the community. The women and children participated in making bracelets as a symbol of unity, friendship, and a lasting memory of this gathering, while the men worked together to carve a wooden cross. These activities not only fostered learning and creativity but also provided an opportunity to talk, share experiences, and build relationships based on respect, faith, and mutual service.
As part of the visit, school supplies were also distributed to the children and youth at the community school, a gesture that was received with great joy by the families. This support represents an investment in the education and future of the younger generations, as well as a concrete expression of the commitment to accompany the community in its holistic development. During this time, there was also an opportunity for families to introduce themselves and share a bit of their stories, strengthening the sense of closeness and fellowship among everyone present. Each of these moments helped make the visit an experience filled with hope, generosity, and brotherhood, reaffirming the commitment to walk together as one family in faith.
La visita a la comunidad de Nueva Guatemala inició con una bienvenida llena de entusiasmo y cariño que reflejó el espíritu acogedor de sus habitantes. A pesar de la lluvia, la comunidad se reunió para recibir a la delegación con carteles, globos y bombas de celebración, expresando la alegría de compartir este tiempo juntos. Este recibimiento fue una hermosa muestra del afecto y la gratitud que existe entre ambas iglesias, recordando que la hospitalidad y el amor al prójimo trascienden cualquier circunstancia y fortalecen los lazos de la familia cristiana.
Como parte de la jornada, se celebró un servicio especial en la iglesia, donde la congregación vivió momentos de profunda emoción y significado espiritual. Durante la celebración se realizó la presentación de un bebé ante Dios y también un bautizo, acontecimientos que llenaron de alegría tanto a las familias como a toda la comunidad. La presencia de la delegación de Estados Unidos hizo aún más especial este momento, ya que pudieron acompañar y celebrar juntos estos importantes pasos de fe, reafirmando que la Iglesia de Cristo está unida más allá de las fronteras y las diferencias culturales.
Después del servicio, se desarrollaron diferentes actividades de convivencia que permitieron fortalecer la amistad entre los visitantes y la comunidad. Las mujeres y los niños participaron en la elaboración de brazaletes como símbolo de unidad, amistad y recuerdo de este encuentro, mientras que los hombres trabajaron juntos tallando una cruz de madera. Estas actividades no solo fomentaron el aprendizaje y la creatividad, sino que también brindaron un espacio para conversar, compartir experiencias y construir relaciones basadas en el respeto, la fe y el servicio mutuo.
Como parte de la visita, también se realizó la entrega de útiles escolares para los niños y jóvenes de la escuela de la comunidad, un gesto que fue recibido con mucha alegría por las familias. Este apoyo representa una inversión en la educación y el futuro de las nuevas generaciones, además de ser una expresión concreta del compromiso de acompañar a la comunidad en su desarrollo integral. Durante este tiempo también hubo oportunidad para que las familias se presentaran y compartieran un poco de sus historias, fortaleciendo el sentido de cercanía y comunión entre todos los presentes. Cada uno de estos momentos contribuyó a hacer de la visita una experiencia llena de esperanza, generosidad y fraternidad, reafirmando el compromiso de caminar juntos como una sola familia en la fe.
