Peace Lutheran Knoxville visit Las Rosas – Don Atilano and Nicolasa’s home
As part of our visit with the peace lutheran church in Knoxville, we had the opportunity to share a very special day with the Las Rosas community. The visit allowed us to reconnect with our brothers and sisters in Christ in the community and celebrate together the progress made, including the finished construction of the kitchen—a space that will greatly benefit the church’s activities and foster fellowship among its members. Seeing this project completed was a cause for gratitude and a testament to the fruit of our joint efforts and shared commitment between the churches.
During the visit, we also walked to the home of Don Atilano and Doña Nicolasa, who welcomed us with the warmth and hospitality that characterize the community. With great affection, they made and shared lunch with everyone present, creating a pleasant atmosphere for conversation and strengthening relationships. Throughout this time, we had the opportunity to hear part of the church’s history, learn how God has worked in the community over the years, and reflect on the value of the shared faith that has sustained its members at different stages of their journey.
Although the journey involved a long walk, every step was worth it for the opportunity to spend time together, learn, and share with the community. Beyond the distance traveled, the visit was marked by the joy of the gathering, the exchange of experiences, and the strengthening of bonds of fellowship between the two churches. It was a deeply rewarding experience that reminded us of the value of walking together in faith, supporting one another, and celebrating the work that God continues to do in each community.
Como parte de la visita junto a la Iglesia Luterana de Paz, Knoxville, tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir una jornada muy especial en la comunidad de Las Rosas. La visita permitió reencontrarnos con los hermanos y hermanas en Cristo de la comunidad y celebrar juntos los avances alcanzados, entre ellos la finalización de la construcción de la cocina, un espacio que será de gran beneficio para las actividades de la iglesia y para la convivencia de quienes forman parte de ella. Ver este proyecto concluido fue motivo de gratitud y una muestra del fruto del trabajo conjunto y del compromiso compartido entre las iglesias.
Durante la visita también caminamos hasta la casa de don Atilano y doña Nicolasa, quienes nos recibieron con la calidez y hospitalidad que caracteriza a la comunidad. Con mucho cariño compartieron el almuerzo con todos los presentes, creando un ambiente ameno para la conversación y el fortalecimiento de las relaciones. A lo largo de este tiempo, tuvimos la oportunidad de escuchar parte de la historia de la iglesia, conocer cómo Dios ha obrado en la comunidad a través de los años y recordar el valor de la fe compartida que ha sostenido a sus miembros en diferentes etapas de su caminar.
Aunque el recorrido implicó una larga caminata, cada paso valió la pena por la oportunidad de convivir, aprender y compartir con la comunidad. Más allá de la distancia recorrida, la visita estuvo marcada por la alegría del encuentro, el intercambio de experiencias y el fortalecimiento de los lazos de hermandad entre ambas iglesias. Fue una experiencia profundamente gratificante que nos recordó el valor de caminar juntos en la fe, acompañándonos mutuamente y celebrando la obra que Dios continúa realizando en cada comunidad.
